Easy trail with lots of history and a fun bridge to cross.
Description
While being a connector trail (and technically part of
Trail #2) this short hike passes a few notable landmarks in the park -- the first being Lusk Earth Fill, which most of this trail sits atop. This earth fill created a small lake that the trail passes by.
Continuing on, the trail will eventually cross the Narrows Covered Bridge, one of the most scenic covered bridges in Indiana. The bridge stands over a rocky gorge, sometimes called The Narrows, and is very picturesque. There is a rocky bank to the left after crossing the bridge offering a great opportunity for pictures.
While most people use this trail as a connector to join Trail #1,
Trail #2,
Trail #4, and Trail #8, it itself offers some of Turkey Run's most notable landmarks.
