Short and scenic.
Description
This is a very short trail that is crammed full with landmarks and things to see. I recommend this trail to everyone who pays a visit to Turkey Run State Park and I highly suggest trying this trail in the evening when the canyon gets cold and the crowds go away.
The start of this trail is behind the cabins near the Turkey Run Inn. After passing the cabins, the trail heads down into Turkey Run Hollow. Passing under the Old Highway Bridge, the trail follows the creek around a bend traversing boulders and small caves. About halfway, the trail meets with
Trail #7, which is another underused but fantastic trail at Turkey Run.
Trail #7 turns left, while Trail #6 continues to the right.
After crossing a bridge, the trail splits and goes to a small beach along Sugar Creek. Swimming is not allowed here, but it is a nice secluded spot to watch the river. Turning to the right, the trail continues by climbing up to Sunset Point, overlooking Sugar Creek from above. Nearby is the Lieber Cabin, which typically houses a few historical exhibits about the park and the area. Trail #6 finishes behind Turkey Run Inn.
