Description
This staircase, although it pales in comparison to the nearby Manitou Incline, is a short but fairly steep set of well-maintained wooden stairs. From the dirt parking lot, there is only a very short dirt path to hike through before reaching the start. From there, the steps come in relatively short stretches with platforms in between each stretch for breaks. The summit has nice views. Although nothing spectacular, you still get good views of nearby
Blodgett Peak and the surrounding mountains.
This trail is primarily used for workouts. To get the best workout, most users will do this trail multiple times in a row. It's only 200 feet tall but that 200 feet quickly adds up the more you do it.
Overall, the Stairway to Heaven is a good training hike with decent views and a quick workout.
Flora & Fauna
Lots of cacti to the sides. Occasionally there are snakes and lizards on the stairs.
