Description

The main branch of the Tall Poplar Trail curves through the McKeldin area, gradually descending towards the Patapsco River. The trail begins with easy/sandy terrain with few obstacles, passing by a small hiking shelter built along the path. After leveling out for about 0.3 miles, the trail descends and then climbs before reaching its final slope, approaching the Patapsco River on a higher grade descent.

True to its name, Tall Poplar Trail is covered in old growth tulip poplar trees, creating a high canopy for the trail with an impressive view.
