This hike has it all: beautiful lake views, wildflowers, bird watching, and plenty of peace and quiet. You'll traipse through meadows and go past many lakes and streams with nice picnic areas. You can even grab some free firewood and cook a hot meal for yourself if you'd like! Finish the hike at the Haltia visitors center with a cold beer.

Haltia has a large visitor center with restrooms and a cafe. The starting point at Kattila is marked but there are no facilities. Several spots along the trail have dry toilets.

This is a great trail which can be done in either direction. I would recommend going from Kattila to Haltia because it is slightly downhill the whole way, and there is a large staircase about halfway through which you'll go down.

Take the bus 245(A) from Espoo city centre, or park at Haltia and take the 245(A) the rest of the way to Katilla. There are plentiful picnic spots and lakefront views, and if you're luckier than I was you might spot a Siberian flying squirrel!
