The trail is a loop with parking available at both the northern and southern ends. The trail on the eastern side of the river has steeper hills and is in general up on a high ridge above the river. The trail on the western side of the river is generally closer to the river, with direct access to the river possible in a few spots.

The trail is well marked with blue triangles.
