Description

This trail is a revitalization of an ancient, pre-Colombian trail that connected the Andes to the interior. The trail features the tallest tree in the Guairá state, El Coloso, and finishes at the Ita Letra petroglyphs.

From the parking lot find take the obvious trail. The trail start out slowly, weaving it way through the thick forest. Only a third of a mile in you find a nice vista. Continue down with the trail getting steeper for the next mile until you finally make it to lower country.

You soon arrive at the road where you turn right. A third of a mile down there is a rock overhang to your left. Hike over and visit the ancient petroglyphs of Ita Letra.
