Be careful. There are a lot of trees down at any moment, and the markers are not clearly visible. Make sure you have trekking poles and bug spray.
Templeton Creek is prone to flooding after heavy rains. It may be impassable at times.

Beginning underneath a powerline intersecting the Fairfield Trail, this trail moves east through hardwood forests, passing a small valley, a field, and some moderate elevation changes. Around a mile in, the trail moves downhill through a quaint and peaceful pine woodland, atypical for Indiana. After leaving the pine forest, the trail abruptly turns left and passes an interesting swampy pond.

After the pond, the trail runs parallel to Mounds Beach Road with evidence of an old roadway to the left of the trail. Eventually the trail crosses the road as well as Templeton Creek itself. After crossing the creek, the trail continues up another small valley before intersecting the short Wildlife Wander Trail. The trail ends by running parallel to another field before meeting Templeton Creek road and Mounds Campground shelter.
