Description
Users can access the beginning of Bakers Creek Greenway at Village Park from the parking lot of the Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department. The greenway goes through the park near the Splash Pad and playground. The greenway then continues and crosses Goldston Street via a crosswalk and enters a wooded area.
After crossing 8th Street via crosswalk, the greenway continues through more wooded areas before connecting with Bakers Creek Park. At the park, the trail connects with
8th Street Greenway, which continues for another 0.7 miles.
Highlights along the Baker's Creek Greenway include the GI Memorial House Museum, Kannapolis Cemetery, and Village Park Rotary Express Train and Splash Pad. The GI Memorial House is a historic house dating back to 1945. The home, which is located at 905 King Street, was constructed to aid the housing shortage.
