From the parking area at Lewisburg Saddle, wind up towards Vineyard Mountain along the southeast side of a ridge. After approximately 500 feet of climbing, you'll reach a gravel road—this is the summit of Vineyard Mountain. To get the view, hike left on the gravel road until you see an old chimney on a cement foundation. From here, you can look east into the Willamette Valley. This trail heads through Oregon State University's McDonald Forest, and an informative map display, as well as paper hand-out maps, are available at the parking area kiosk. Mountain bikers also frequent this trail.
