Family Friendly
Quiet, safe, and easy to navigate.
The entirety of Knox Park closes at dusk and is more difficult to access after heavy rain and in winter.
Overview
Knox Park is quiet, safe, and great for families and even dogs. The trails and paths are smooth and easy to navigate.
Need to Know
There is a gravel parking lot near the red barns at the beginning of the trail, and there are restrooms nearby in the barns near the entrance to the dog park. There used to be a cafe here, but it is closed until further notice.
Description
Very simple and quiet trail that goes in a complete loop through the main portions of Knox Farm. You start at the red barns and work your way across a large field toward the forest library hidden in the trees. A hike through the woods takes you through the back part of the Knox property, leading back toward the historic building that is used as a wedding venue. There is a small pond, leading back past the dog park. The trail consists of gravel through the forest and and is paved closer to the buildings and dog park. Horses are allowed on the trail as well. There are many beautiful views across the property into the fields.
The trail is mostly gravel/natural earth in the forested areas. Take care after heavy rain and in spring—some portions of the trail may be very muddy and difficult to navigate.
Flora & Fauna
There are often lots of birds and sometimes (very rarely) deer.
