Description

Avalanche Lake Trail begins at a well marked intersection about 4 and 1/5th miles up West Fork Beaver Creek Trail #222. The intersection is at the beginning of a sometimes-swampy clearing. The trail heads northwest and gradually climbs upwards. It should be easy to follow once the snow has melted.

You'll cross a small stream in another potentially boggy area and switchback up the slop before the trail straightens out to the west - more or less following the main creek from Avalanche Lake. You'll soon be at the beautiful lake! Cross the creek (if water levels allow) and follow the trail along the north edge to enjoy the views of mountain surrounding it.
