Description
From the parking lot, take the trail south. You'll get cool views of the Masonic Cemetery before diving back into the woods. The trail dead-ends onto the road up to Simpson's Rest which has great views of Fisher's Peak and Trinidad (if you are in the mood for some vert!).
Flora & Fauna
A great trail to spot the fourwing saltbush (Atriplex canescens). This unique plant changes its sex every few years depending on the nutrients in the soil. Keep an eye out for the seed pods, which have four "wings" emanating out from a central pod.
