Description
The Conservation Level Greenway is a 48.4 mile greenway that one can bike from Parkland to Miramar. It has 5 trailheads/access points:
Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, Atlantic Blvd at Sawgrass Expressway, Everglades Recreation Park, Markham Park, and Everglades Holiday Park.
This loop begins at the Markham Park trailhead and is a loop of 27.4 miles. To access the Conservation Levee Greenway, simply follow the New River Greenway west past the park entrance. Pass around/through the green fence designed to keep motorists off the greenway. Continue west until you reach canal bridge, the levee being on the other side. Climb up the gravel access path and onto the levee and head north.
Once you reach the Atlantic Blvd trailhead, make a left and head west. Follow the mile marker signposts until you reach the end of them. After, follow the levee to the left until you arrive at Everglades Holiday Park. Head towards HWY 27 as if you were exiting the park. From here, look for the dirt path through the grass on to the left on the east side of the entrance to the park. Follow this dirt path around the yellow gate, through the tall grass, and to the end, which will terminate at the levee bridge where you began. Cross the bridge and head east on the New River Greenway back towards Markham Park.
