We took our three children and although there are some steep climbs, they did well and enjoyed it.
Overview
This is a really fun hike which combines two different trails. There are plenty of rocky places to overlook Hidden Lake on the
Ridge Loop Trail and the view of the lake from the bottom is beautiful.
Description
The trail starts out flat and wide in a field and then goes back into a forest. The trail then follows next to a river bed for a while. Eventually, you'll reach a fork in the trail with a sign that says "Hidden Lake straight, Ridge Loop right".
Stay to the right (the Ridge Loop ends up looping back around the where the
Hidden Lake Trail ends so you can do both). At this point there is a steep incline and this is probably the most difficult part of the trail. Once you get to the top, there are some beautiful views of Hidden Lake below. Continue to follow the trail around as it bends left around the lake down a steep decline and continue to enjoy the view of the lake.
