The Little River is the highlight, but the bridge washed out and the crossing is considered a ford at low water only.

Need to Know

The old escarpment section has difficult footing and is not presently mapped or maintained. Use the blue blazed Cut-Off Trail.

Description

Best access is from Tunxis Trail North as there is no immediate on road parking at Cross Highway where the Little River North Trail continues northward along the river. A splendid bridge built by the Boy Scouts washed out in the tremendous flooding of 2011. Trail users should exercise caution at the crossing, as fording the river is not considered safe at high water.
