Description

Beginning at Deukmejian Wilderness Park, the Crescenta View Trail goes off to the right crossing Dunsmore Creek. Once across the creek, the trail begins ascending a series of switchbacks along the side of Mt. Lukens. At the two-mile mark, there is a circular structure made of boulders known as the Redoubt.

At the three-mile mark, you'll reach a T junction intersecting Mount Lukens Road #2N76. From here, you can reach the Mt. Lukens summit by heading northwest. At the summit, you'll see a multitude of cellular and radio towers. If you wish to make a loop returning to your car you can complete the hike by descending along Haines Canyon Road and then connecting to Rim Of The Valley Trail.
