Description
This is a great all-around training trail. There are a variety of ascents with an average of 250m of elevation for each initial ascent to the ridge line. Beginning at the proposed site will take hikers up a 3 km ascent with varying grades, but an all-around intense start for beginners to intermediate. The trail floor is safe and solid from the fall to spring and likely a bit muddy during the summer/monsoon month.
Once reaching the 3 km point, hikers will move along a safe and moderate ridge line with moderate descents and ascents. There are others using the trail, e.g., hikers and mountain bikers, so it is wise to be cautious and keep to the right on the trail. The terrain is not overly technical, but it is a good idea to keep an eyes on your footing as you move along to prevent any unnecessary falls.
The scenery is standard leaf dropping trees common to many hills in Korea, so nothing special in this regard. The trail is a great local hike in the midst of some large urban and residential areas. If someone doesn't have the time to get out of town, this route offers a variety of terrain, good elevation training, and the possibility of hikes up to about 28 km from start to start.
