The wood bridge over the Econlockhatchee River at end of trail closed for repairs.
Need to Know
There is parking on the left and right side of Snow Hill Road bridge. If this parking is full or you need a bathroom, you can park 0.2 miles down the road at Big Little Econ State Park. This would require a $2 daily entry fee, but there are bathrooms and water on site.
Description
Trail begins under the Snow Hill Road bridge. There is parking and a canoe launch. The trailhead is on your left if you are facing the water. There is a small wooden walkway that leads in to the trees that is the start of the trail. This leads to winding singletrack trails that mostly hugs the river. Some places the trail will split, but they are just offshoots that will quickly lead back to the primary trail.
Mountain bikes can be common on this trail, especially on weekends. The only section that does not keep the river on your right hand side is about a mile in on the peninsula where it weaves around and eventually takes you back to the main trail. It is hard to get lost as the trails always leads back to itself. Sometimes you'll see MTB markers that point to the river.
This trail connects to the
Two Bridges Option and ends at the main footbridge that crosses the Econlockhatchee River. This bridge was heavily damaged during hurricane Irma and is under repair so you can not cross the river.
Flora & Fauna
This is a mix of pines, oak , palms & cypress. Alligators are a common sight sunning on the sandy river banks.
