Need to Know

The fully serviced chalet is open during ski season and passes are required for use of winter trails. There is no fee for off season trail use, but donations are appreciated.

Description

The trail was built to link McClean Lake Trail to Chaulk's Run, but cat footprints in the snow plus a very rare sighting lead to the trail being dubbed Lynx.

As the trail gains elevation after branching off McLean Lake Trail, look back for a view towards Goose Bay with ski and snowshoe trails below. Viewing the land from a vantage point is the best way to gain trail orientation.

After initial climbing, the trail is not difficult and it leads to a very fun "Camel Back" section of Chaulk's Run.

Flora & Fauna

Sightings of elusive lynx have been very rare, but you may be lucky! The vegetation before the 1985 fire was predominantly spruce/lichen with patches of bog but tree regrowth has been quite slow. This is a good blueberry picking site!
