Description

The Bear Creek Trail starts at the South Platte Trail behind the Regal Cinemas and follows Bear Creek through residential neighborhoods and green space, including Bear Creek and Bear Valley parks. It is flat until it reaches Bear Creek Lake Regional Park, where it skirts the golf course then climbs fairly steeply over the dam onto the bluff above the reservoir, providing great views of downtown Denver to the north east and the Front Range to the West.

From there it follows the top of the bluff until it joins the C-470 Bike Path coming in from the south. It then descends through the park past the campground and park headquarters, before exiting the park near Morrison Road and C-470. It passes under C-470 where you can continue on the bike path into Morrison to access Red Rocks and Mathews/Winters Open Space or Mt. Falcon Open Space or head north on the C-470 Bike Path to access Dakota Ridge Open Space or Green Mountain Park.

Scenic bike ride that is mostly flat, but with a few deceivingly challenging climbs. 28.4mi — 2h 42m
