Need to Know
The fully serviced chalet is open during ski season. Snowshoe trail passes are required for winter use of trails. There is no fee for off season use but donations are appreciated.
Description
This is one of Birch Brook's best trails through beautiful birch forest and the views are breathtaking. It is best starting from the higher part of A2. The bit of climb to get there from the chalet via C1, D1, D2 will be over and then it is then slightly downhill and level all the way back to rejoining D2 near
Games Trail.
A new D5-D1 connector allows the portion of the trail that is parallel to
Games Trail to be incorporated into several new route configurations.
Flora & Fauna
The trail as it branches off the higher part of A2 goes downhill through a mature mixed forest of balsam fir and birch and then a birch grove in the portion of trail that is parallel to
Games Trail. The part of D5 near
Games Trail is one of the best locations around for picking squash berries in late summer.
