Parts of this trail can get very difficult when wet or icy. The trail runs through some very steep ravine areas that get extremely muddy and slick if the ground is saturated with water. In winter, it can get so ice packed that slipping can happen that sends you hurtling downhill into trees.
Need to Know
Seven Mile Creek is free and open to the public. There are places to park nearby many of the trail entrances, portable toilets, a playground and picnic shelter. There are multi use trails in this park for hiking, horseback riding, biking, and snowshoeing.
Trails are fairly well marked. Fires are allowed in designated places. No overnight camping or glass containers are allowed. The park is closed from dusk to dawn.
Description
Trail 9 winds through some very steep ravine areas as well as flat fields. There is a lookout point at the edge of a field that this trail takes you to. This lookout is pretty disappointing as it is so overgrown. Sometimes, while on Trail 9, I just skip the "lookout loop" portion and keep moving on to the trickier wooded ravine areas.
