Need to Know
The NPS does not maintain the lava tubes, so be careful! Bring a flashlight and a trash bag to help keep the place clean!
Description
This trail starts in the dirt parking lot, just off the Aiken Mine Road. If you are feeling more adventurous, it is possible to drive your car 0.16 miles along the trail (this part is on a washed out road).
Follow the trail (washed out road) that leads north out of the parking lot. After 0.16 miles, take a sharp right (there will be an NPS sign there). Follow the path uphill for 450ish feet (watch out for holes). You'll find a couple large holes in the ground, and a staircase leading into the father hole. From here, you can easily explore the lava tubes.
