Need to Know

Trailhead sits in the day use facility for Apache National Forest South Fork Little Colorado. There is a vault toilet near the start across the creek.

Description

Great singletrack hike that is enjoyable in all seasons except when snow can get deep midwinter. First mile is shaded and creekside and latter portion enters the burn scar of the Wallow Fire with no shade. Caution on high wind days as some trees could still come down. Most downed trees have been cleared/cut. Very lightly travelled.

Lovely walk, flowers in bloom, fallen trees due to past fire. Went to river crossing, continued to fence line, unable to see trail beyond that point. 3mi — 9h 35m
