Description

A paved path with lots of spur trails leading out into the neighborhood, continuing east toward Stringfellow Road. Across Walney Road and over the bridge from the trailhead, the Flatlick Trail continues west toward the Cub Run Trail system.

A small ford across Frog Lick is usually navigable but may not be after strong storms or snow melt; though the entire route is generally easy, the ford's stepping stones may be too far apart for small children. I'm 5 feet tall and they're just a bit of a stretch for me.

The park authority is pretty good about clearing fallen logs etc. from the path, but the pavement quality is so-so due to root buckling and general erosion.

From the northeast end of this map, a singletrack trail continues north toward Willard Road and Rt. 50; however, as of this time (January 2019), that section is closed for maintenance.

As a hike, it's nothing to go out of your way for. But if you work in the area, it's the perfect length for a lunchtime workout.
