Overview
This hike takes you through the Carney Island Recreation and Conservation Area. The hike meanders through typical Florida palmetto savannah and forest.

There is a $7 daily use fee or season pass. Gated access or honor system.
Description
The trail is a well-groomed service road for park attendants. It meanders through classic Florida woods and meadows alongside swamp areas.
There are some nice views of Lake Weir along the southern portion. Majestic live oaks grace the meadow areas. You can pack a picnic to enjoy at one of the many great picnic spots.
The loop also features seven covered rest shelters and an equal number of benches along the way.

Racoon, armadillo, deer, wild turkey, fox squirrel.
