Need to Know

This trail does not have reassurance markers. There is one unreliable water source that would need to be filtered.

Description

The trailhead is visible from the Longleaf scenic byway. The Turpentine trail meets up with the Backbone trail in 1.5 miles. This trail has no trail markers. The tread way is kind of rough, muddy clay when wet, and rocky in some parts. You are in the Kisatchie Hills Wilderness area, so no motorized vehicles or bikes. Equestrian in foot traffic only. Dogs on a leash. Some interesting views. Pretty easy hike for flatlanders.
