You'll enter the Mt Adams Wilderness area on this trail so wilderness rules apply

There is parking for perhaps 10 cars at the trailhead and a tight turnaround for horse trailers. There is a wilderness registry at the TH and basic trail information. The trail begins heading south through old forest and enters the wilderness after only 0.2 miles. At about 0.8 miles the trail will get close to Adams Creek and you'll find an informal trail leading down to the water. Note: the creek is very silty and not well suited for filtering/drinking. You'll be in the forest for another mile or so when the trail again approaches Adams Creek with another path down to it. At about 2 miles total the trail bursts out into a large meadow that will be blanketed in lupines in mid-late summer. Mt Adams looms over the meadow to the south resulting in a beautiful picturesque landscape. A small clump of trees in this meadow marks the signed intersection to Divide Camp Spur. You'll alternate between trees and meadows for the rest of the way to the PCT.
