How to reach to the trail:
First of all, the hikers must reach to Kapan City, then start hiking. Please, use taxi service with taximeters.
Description
Trail description:
The trail starts from Kapan City of Syunik Province, then passes through Baghaburj Town, and continues until the Khustup State Sanctuary. Mount Khustup is a sacred place for all Armenians as on the slopes of the mountain, the national hero Garegin Nzhdeh is buried. This trail could be a two day route, where the 1st day should be Riched to Shishkert, and the 2nd day to the peak of the mountain.
Monuments description:
The mountain is considered as a natural monument of the province. It is rich with caves, forests, cliffs, and many little rivers.

Flora & Fauna
Flora:
The most mountainous province of Armenia is Syunik. The most well-known sanctuary of the region, Shikahogh, is also situated in this province. The former is rich with unique endemic species and animals.
Fauna:
The habitats in Syunik meet in the forests bears, rabbits, wild boars, and panthers very often. In the mountainous parts, there are are flying white eagles (included in the Red Book of Armenia) and griffons.
