Description

Overall a nice hike with great lookout approximately 1.5 miles in. The initial climb is a bit steep and the second climb is steeper than indicated. Trail is easy to follow but seems to get limited maintenance (several trees across trail - June 2020). Trail is almost entirely shaded, which keeps the sun off, but also limits the breeze.

The primitive campground at the end has a nice beach to use for swimming and/or eating once you complete the hike out as well as several campsites and a couple picnic tables. There will likely be boat campers present so you may not have it to yourself.

There were also two pit toilets that were not well maintained. Water may or may not be available in the creek beds on the way out so pack what you need for drinking. It can get warm.
