Need to Know
There are no markings or blazes on this trail!
Description
Parking is at the Wise County Behavioral Health Services building. Head to the northeastern corner of the cleared area and you'll see a road up a steep grade. Follow this road and you'll pass by two defunct gates and then you'll join the trail proper. Turn right and follow the trail.
You'll come to a switchback approximately 2.1 miles past joining the trail. Another two thirds of a mile beyond this will bring you to the gap in the mountain. You'll then bear to the left to continue toward the fire tower ( right hand turn at this point leads to the old Rim Rock Railroad which is PRIVATE PROPERTY).
