Description

Great Divide Trail - Section C (Kananaskis Lakes to Field) Alternate Route.

This Alternate Route climbs from the forests, through meadows to travel on the alpine Continental Divide, before dropping down to cross a major creek and rejoin the main GDT route.

This is all in Kananaskis Country, a very scenic mountain park area, specifically Alberta's Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and British Columbia's adjoining Height of the Rockies Provincial Park. It is popular with overnight hikers out for as much as a week. In fact, a popular overnight hike is to do a loop hike on this Alternate Route and the main GDT route.

Please see the resources listed above under Need to Know for up to date detailed descriptions and valuable hiker information.
