Great Divide Trail - Section E (Saskatchewan Crossing to Jasper) Alternate Route.

This Alternate Route bypasses the Maligne River Valley where the trail can be quite overgrown, by taking a high route over several passes. This route leaves the trail at Maligne Pass, and goes over high passes for about about 18 miles before reaching trail again - the popular Bald Hills Trail. For about the last 6 miles this Alternate Route descends through meadows and then forest to Maligne Lake on Bald Hills Trail. Route finding skills are needed.
