The King's Trail is a quiet, exposed trail where you are quite isolated in some areas so be careful and think safety first. Be sure you have the right equipment, knowledge, and experience to handle an emergency and to give first aid if something happens. Call 112 if you need assistance but don't depend on your phone because the signal can be poor or non-existant in some areas.

If you inform the staff in the mountain huts of your plans for the day, they might keep an eye on you.

The season, when the huts are open usually runs between mid-June and the end of September, rowing boats are usually at place in the end of June or beginning of July, but the weather can be very treacherous, including late or early snow.

The King's Trail (Kungsleden) in northern Sweden, is probably is one of the world’s most famous hiking trails.

The trail is approximately 440 kilometers (270 miles) long, between Abisko in the north and Hemavan in the south and it passes through four national parks: Abisko, Stora Sjöfallet, Sarek and Pieljekaise.
