Family Friendly This trail is very popular with families, who enjoy its open vistas, desert wildflowers, and it is not too steep.

Description

Trail 8A climbs up a long wash from the 32nd Street parking. After a short climb, it intersects with the Mohave Connector Trail #202, and then continues to follow the valley north and east, eventually climbing up to the pass, and Ruth Hamilton Trail #8B. Trail 8A is heavily traveled, but everyone I met on that trail was nice and polite.

Reaching the pass and intersection with 8B, there is a nice bench. Take a break, have a drink, and enjoy the view. From the pass, the trail heads down the valley, continuing to the north, eventually intersecting the L.V Yates Trail #8. You could continue on Trail #8 to the north, eventually coming out at the 40th St. Trailhead, for a long, one-way trip.

From the junction of 202 and 8A, look up the valley to the north. At the ridge top on the left you meet trail 8B again.
