Tannery Road isn't maintained during the winter.

Need to Know

There aren't any bathroom facilities at the Tannery Falls Trailhead. Tannery Road isn't maintained during the winter. Please adhere to the posted danger signs. Use caution when traveling on this trail during the winter.

Description

This trail descends into the woods, following along Ross Brook. As it nears the top of one of the waterfalls, it turns to the right (along a fence). It descends down a staircase that was built by the Student Conservation Association back in 2008. There is an excellent view of the falls to the right. The trail descends down the ridge and down some stone stairs. There is another waterfall on the left.

The trail descends farther down the ridge to where Ross Brook and Tannery Brook meet. Look for the blue blaze across Tannery Brook where the trail fords the brook. Here (across the brook), there is a spur that goes left to another waterfall farther downstream. The main trail turns right and follows Tannery Brook upstream. The trail ascends along the falls and ends at Tannery Road.
