Need to Know

Ship Peak Spur is found at the 1.4 mile mark of South Trail and Tour of Turtleback Mountain Preserve.

Description

Ship Peak Spur emerges from the trees almost immediately onto a high grassy rock outcrop. To the east, next to this spur is a dropoff with almost 180 degree views into the far distance. The lowlands and hills of east Orcas Island can be seen. To the northeast and southeast, the San Juan Islands dot the waters of Puget Sound. And, in the distance, is Canada.

This rock outcrop is fairly large for a rock outcrop, so one can wander around and find a good spot to rest, eat, and soak in the scenery.
