A short, flat, loop trail with creek access.
Need to Know
There is a nice, rustic, picnic pavilion area at the trailhead.
Description
The trail begins at the intersection of Standing Stone Road and Seeger Road near the pavilions. It is a very nice trail for young children.
This trail is mostly flat and wide. It meaders through old growth forest in the Alan Seeger Natural Area. Tall hemlock and rhododendron line the trail. Part of this 0.8 mile loop trail joins the
Mid State Trail Greenwood Spur. Take a right onto
Seeger Rd to complete the loop. There are a few crossings over Standing Stone Creek (with bridges) along the portion of the trail shared with the Greenwood Spur. This short trail is shady and the short, flat length is perfect for families.
Flora & Fauna
Hemlock, rhododendron.
