Family Friendly
The trail in good condition, there's great lodging close by, and Grafton is a great place to have a family day.
Description
The only "loop" trail in the Pere Marquette system. The trailhead is halfway up the main road through the park, and parking is available about 1.25 miles from the park entrance at a small parking area off the main road on the left. You hike approximately 100 yards from the parking lot to the east to find the trailhead.
The terrain is a bit rough with mud, washouts, larger rocks, limbs, and roots. It's a lightly trafficked trail with a very serene atmosphere. There aren't really any "views," and the trail can be difficult to follow, but it is marked with orange stars. The trails is bisected by the road at a couple points and it is also connected to the larger trail system in Pere Marquette Park.
Flora & Fauna
All sorts of native trees, many native ferns and wild flowers.
