“Use this trail to access the Battlement Reservoir Trail. Climb this short trail to the ridge & turn right on the ridge.
”
The road to access the trailhead goes through private property and is not open during the winter.
**The trailhead has been relocated over the past few years. Access the trailhead by following signs on the beaver creek road above rifle.
Description
Park at the new trailhead following the Beaver Creek Road and National Forest signs. Go down and cross the creek before heading up the hill. A few switchbacks get you to the top of the ridge quite quickly. This is the end of the trail as mapped here, but suggested to continue up the ridge and on the trail and you'll end up in Tepee Park above the oil and gas development.
You'll be on the Battlement Reservoir Trail #2160 and you can walk the 12 miles to the Battlement Reservoirs and descend into Parachute for a nice day hike! Get a friend and leave a vehicle at the Battlement trailhead for when you arrive.
