This trail has the best view in the park, but wait until fall for colors or when the leaves are down to best enjoy it.

The trail may not be accessible if the lake's water level is up as the beginning section of trail can flood.

Need to Know

Avoid this trail if its rained in the past 2-3 day as very much as the hill becomes too slick and soft.

Description

This 2.1-mile loop is relatively easy for over 80% of it, but as it climbs that quickly changes. The grade approaches 30 degrees, and it is almost hands and knees climbing at one spot. I wouldn't recommend this for any small children. That said, the view is wonderful, and the fall colors are great. There is a great breeze as you leave the bottoms and gain a little elevation. The rock outcropping at the top is a beautiful place to take a break and enjoy the success of your climb.

Flora & Fauna

Typical southern Indiana forests.
