This trail offers a generally easy path between the Patapsco Thru Trail Woodstock Section and the Lower Thru Trail, that adds flexibility to hikes on either trail. The path itself follows a BGE right of way access road, giving it a wide base with fewer significant obstacles. While the trail is not necessarily flat, it is rather easy and follows a gentle slope as it curves around the ridge line. The ends of the trail loop off of the Patapsco Thru Trail Woodstock Section, allowing hikers to use this route as an added loop when coming along this trail. On the south end, the trail also connects with the Lower Thru Trail, allowing hikers to again use this as a loop, or a connection to the Patapsco Thru Trail Woodstock Section Trail.
