Need to Know

Road access at both ends. Public restroom at the Waipatiki carpark.

Description

This is a beautiful hike with easy access. The trail runs from Waipatiki Beach to the mouth of the Aropaoanui River along the cliffs. There is trail access at both ends and parking.

The trail is in good shape at both ends but becomes overgrown about 1.5 kilometers in, and you'll need to work your way through some bushes. There are several small mudslides that have covered the trail in spots, but they are easy to navigate. The views are worth the troubles though. If you go when it's sunny out, the water is an amazing blue and looks fantastic against the rocks!
