A beautifully maintained trail, a lot of downed trees but not on the trail. River noise in the background, great views!

Need to Know

This trail connects to another trailhead. If inexperienced in hiking this trail becomes convoluted in places and has many misleading offshoots. There are a few sketchy footing areas and steep loose "gravel" areas as you get more involved in the trail.

Description

Park at Cheesman lot, hike down the trail along the stream and cross the road. You'll start climbing as you go until you reach the Anglers sign and the trail forks. Take the trail to the right and you'll start to descend but still be above the river and soon will see it.

There are countless options to head to the bank to soak your feet or toss some flies, depending on what you brought with you. Endless photo opportunity and the peaceful sounds of the river passing you by. There are a lot of boulders you could also chalk up and have a go on.

There were fly fisherman on the banks and in the river, everyone was friendly and it wasn't over crowded. I will return and do the whole out and back, it just took longer to drive there then I had budgeted this time.

Take a right at the sign to continue down the trail or take a left if you brought a fly rod.

Heading uphill from the parking lot. One of the best maintained trails from fallen trees I have come across.

Busy parking lot on a Thursday morning. Lots of fly fisherman, few hikers. Somewhat difficult to follow the trail because of all the side trails.
