From the Camp Rock Campground, the trail navigates through a forests along a creek for about 1 mile. When you cross Bear Creek, you'll see the first burn area, Beartrack burn. Go through the burn, and you re-enter the forest and soon after skirt the border of an older burn area, the Resthouse Meadows burn. Hiking further up the ridge, the trail joins the Cub Creek Trail for about 0.2 miles. Shortly after crossing the Beartrack Creek, you reach the trail's end at Lower Beartrack Lake.
