Need to Know

Access if you are staying at Suncadia Lodge.

Description

Leave from the rear of Suncadia Lodge and head to the River Loop. The trail heads downhill for about 0.5 miles before leveling out for a nice 2.5 miles alongside the Tumble Creek. Turn around at the golf course (3 miles) and head back toward the lodge. You can either come back up the trail to the lodge or tackle the “1,000 steps” up the same ridge.

Flora & Fauna

The trail is doubletrack the whole way. There is a nice variety of trees along the way. It is possible to see elk, bear, and mountain lion if you go out at dawn, dusk, or night.
