Start your hike right at the Salmon River! Get the worst of it over within the first mile as you gain 350 feet. Yep, that is easy, and the worst of the climb all at once. The next 4 miles to Hell Roaring Lake is a very mild climb as you follow the meandering Hell Roaring Creek.

At 3.4 miles, up you come to the junction with Trail #089 coming in on the left from a parking area at the end of Forest Road #315. Stay right and continue on to Alice Lake - Redfish Lake Trail #092 just above the outlet of Hell Roaring Lake. Be sure to at least go halfway along the lake shore to get all the views from Alice Lake - Redfish Lake Trail #092 that skirts the southeast shore.
