Family Friendly
A very easy trail; the first uphill is the steepest but once you're on top of the mountain, it's relatively flat.
Need to Know
Restrooms/porta potties are located at the bottom of the mountain when you enter the trailhead. There may be other dogs on the trail.
Description
The first 0.5 or so miles uphill is steep, but once you turn and are on top of the mountain, the rest of the way up is relatively steady. This makes for an easy day hike for any age or hiking skill level with various views from Talcott Mountain. You can even climb up the Hueblein Tower at the top and see a view of Connecticut on top of the mountain. There's a room at the top of the tower with views in all directions. You can see the Connecticut River Valley on the East and the Farmington Valley on the West.
Check out the calendar, as there are occasional events, like the Tower Toot in mid October.
Flora & Fauna
