Park at the arboretum, where parking is plentiful, and head south on this trail.

The easiest way to take this trail is to start at the arboretum and head south. Once you run out of stone path, you can just turn around and head back.

This is a newer trail that isn't on the maps for Tuckahoe. It runs along Eveland Road, southbound from the arboretum. From the arboretum parking lot there is a small cut through trail, but if you can't find it, you can hike out the entrance road to the arboretum and turn right immediately before getting to Eveland Road. Along this path, there are a few driveway crossings and you cross behind two big farm fields, and then you continue along a shaded path surrounded by tall pines. The trail ends at the junction with the Tuckahoe Valley Trail.

This area was under construction a year or two ago, but it looks great now. Coming out of the pines from the south end and seeing everything open up behind a farm field, with freshly planted flora bordering the trail, is a really nice sight. As it matures, I'm sure it's only going to get better.

If you find this to be too easy, please read the Tuckahoe Valley Trail entry, because you can add part of that to this hike. This path cuts off about 0.75 of a mile in distance and is a much easier path if you don't like the hills, roots, creek crossings, and mud of the main trail.

There is a lot of signage for different plant life throughout this trail. You'll see plenty of insects, amphibians, and maybe even some deer out in the fields.
